Annual harp events
The Harp Gathering➚ is near Toledo, Ohio, in May, the weekend after Mother’s Day. Enjoy workshops, concerts, and harp camaraderie in an intimate setting.
Ohio Scottish Arts School➚ is near Cleveland, Ohio, on the fourth Saturday in June. The harp class focuses on “Basic harp technique for beginners and intermediates. Repertoire at all levels, including tunes for competition sets. Scottish style, including ornaments, lilt, and dance types.”
Somerset Folk Harp Festival➚ is near New York City each year in July. Somerset is held both online and in person, so you have the opportunity to WATCH EVERY WORKSHOP after they’re recorded on Zoom. There are over 100 live and pre-recorded workshops available on any harp-related topic you can think of. See four performers each day at the concert. Go for the whole long weekend or just one day, or confine yourself to the harp-packed exhibit hall to pick out the perfect one for you. If you live close, this is not to be missed. You can arrange with the organizer to find you a loaner or rental harp. If you’re brand new, attend the “I’ve Always Wanted To Play The Harp” workshop.
